The Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation is a non-profit organization with a volunteer Board of Directors.
At our office in the Kent Place Mall in Lindsay, we provide access to business services and financial assistance for companies and organizations throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes.
We are supported by Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, FedDev Ontario and are a member of the Ontario Association of Community Futures Development Corporations.

RATIONALE FOR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
In determining the direction for the Kawartha Lakes CFDC, key aspects of our business quickly rose to the forefront-specific to our current activities and areas of potential growth. Each of these aspects has been incorporated into five core strategic components, which have been identified as vital to the employment and economic development of our community. Through our focus on these core strategic directions we will strengthen our role as an integral contributor to the future prosperity of the City of Kawartha Lakes. They also integrate and fully compliment the objectives of the Government of Canada's Community Futures Program.
OTHER FACTORS
The Directors and Senior Staff of the KLCFDC have determined other factors necessary to support our main objective and which will shape our strategic plan. They are:
- Strong, consistent marketing and communications,
- Sound financial management,
- Increased accessibility to the public, and
- Effective deployment and management of our human resources.
Length of Time the Organization has been Operating
The KLCFDC began in 1986 as the Victoria County Employment Development Group. It became the Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation in 2001.
